You are a night-shift operator at DataSys Corporation. Your job is simple: run diagnostics, check logs, maintain the system.
But Terminal-07 has been acting strange lately. Files that shouldn't exist. Messages meant for someone else. A presence in the machine that watches, learns, and waits.
RUNLEVEL ZERO is an interactive fiction horror experience played entirely through a command-line interface. Type real UNIX commands. Explore a haunted filesystem. Uncover what happened to the operator before you.
Features
- Authentic 1993 terminal simulation with working UNIX commands
- Psychological horror that builds through discovery, not jump scares
- Multiple endings based on your choices
- Hidden files, secret commands, and mysteries to uncover
- ~2-3 hours to complete, with secrets for those who dig deeper
Content Warning
Themes of identity, isolation, and psychological manipulation. No graphic violence or gore.

This looks so cool! I tried it, and did a lot of investigating… didn’t quite get to a point that I was able to make decisions or do anything unexpected, but it was a cool vibe. Not sure if I was missing something by not being too versed in UNIX. Should you be able to scroll up with the
catcommand?taildidn’t work, so I’m unsure if I’m missing details above the page, if that makes sense. I did try trying theechocode, but the ^ symbol just brought up the DragonRuby console – maybe want to disable that?
